Help us improve west Suffolk health services

Have you a passion for the NHS and improving healthcare services in west Suffolk? Help us to find out the views of our patients and public and involve local people in having a say about their local health services.

We are looking for new members to join the Community Engagement Group (CEG), a subcommittee of NHS West Suffolk Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG). The CCG is responsible for planning and commissioning most health services for the 245,000 population of west Suffolk. CEG members inform and influence the decisions made by the CCG as well as supporting the lay member of the CCG, Jo Finn, in communicating and engaging with the local population.

Membership is voluntary and unpaid and involves a minimum two hour meeting every two months, with more time if you can. Travel expenses are paid.

Jo Finn said: “CEG members have made a significant difference in guiding me and the CCG on how to better engage people about health matters in west Suffolk. We’ve learnt that as well as talking to our population we need to make sure that we are listening to them and hearing what they say. CEG members have joined us in talking to people on the streets of towns in our

area and making local contacts.

“We are seeking new members with a keen interest in healthcare issues who can share our passion for making the NHS the very best it can be. Members can come from any walk of life, and would represent a west Suffolk locality, not a specific interest group or organisation.”

If you are interested in becoming a CEG member please contact the CCG with the following:

  • your name
  • the area where you live
  • your contact details (phone and email)
  • your particular area of interest in health
  • a short paragraph (no longer than 100 words) as to why you want to join

We hope that you will want to join our enthusiastic group.

Email - hayley.charman@suffolk.nhs.uk or telephone 01473 770014 before 30 November.
